Description of Dissemination Event:world food day activities
Outcomes and Results:On the World Food Day, the sweet little students from Primary school “Kliment Ohridski”, Kardjali, launched an initiative by making healthy sandwiches. The idea was to promote healthy eating. Children exhibited appetizing sandwiches of wholegrain bread, vegetables and other delicious and useful foods on their tables. The initiative also readily included the older pupils from the 5th to the 7th grade. Everyone enjoyed the culinary abundance of homemade food. They represented the UN initiative to mark this day as a day to counteract hunger - counteracting food waste (1 billion to 300 million tons of food per year); respect for food and bread, and especially the call to share their food with others. "Help one person only once and you will get a little better." This day is a reason to think about what has been done and what needs to be done to solve a global problem - to have no people on the earth starving. Every day around the world, nearly 1 billion people cannot afford the food they need for good health and growth. On this day we also remind you of the need for healthy eating and the problem of obesity and immobilization!
